MEDICATIONS for ADD
Medications
Can be best understood as Short acting (appox. 2- 4 yrs ) and
Long acting (6-9 hours) and depending on the different strengths required.
The amount of time required for task at hand /focus will determine what medication to use.
Short acting included :
Methylphenidate (Ritalin), Adderall IR, Focalin, Zenzedi, Dexedrine
Long Acting include:
Vyvanse
Adderal XR
Focalin ER
Concerta
Daytrana 24 patch
Aptensio XR
Dyanavel XR
Mydayis ER
Adhansia XR
EVEKIO- L Amphetamine/ D Amphetamine
ZENZEDI- Dextroamphetamine
Each individual will metabolize the medication in different ways.
Genetic testing can now elucidate rapid metabolizers from slow.
We offer this test- often covered by insurance.
